I am so thankful for the opportunity to join Rivertown Wellness and RW Play. Cincinnati has been home for myself, my husband and my three children for the last 16 years. We have come to love this community, and I am thrilled to be serving children and families.

I love play therapy! Not only is it the natural language of children, but it provides opportunities for growth that match up well with a child’s natural development. Play allows me to meet a child where they are and communicate in ways that foster lasting growth and change.

I count it a privilege to join children and families in vulnerable moments. Life can present difficult situations and emotions; Hard things should never be tackled alone. My desire is for children in my playroom to be seen, heard, valued and cared for. Not only do I work with the child, I work to strengthen the relationship between the child and their parents. Coming alongside children and families in hard times allows them to gain new insights, try new skills and notice progress in small and big ways.

I have my Independent Social Work License in the state of Ohio, and I am a Registered Play Therapist. I have been trained in Thera-play, EMDR and trauma-focused play therapy. I use evidence-based practices such as Child-Centered Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy in my work with children and start by building a safe, trusting relationship with children to help them process emotions and experiences.

I received my Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan followed by my Masters in Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. Over the last two decades, I have had the privilege of working in many roles within the Child Welfare spectrum of services. I value the connections made with families as I have helped them move forward in life with new insights and hope.
